  1. A Guide To Moat's Settings This guide is more based towards newer players of the server, but you might also learn something about a setting you never knew. Most of these will explain the most common thing. But what else can you explain it as? General Most newer players keep asking how to turn off the music at the end of the round. Due to some of the songs being unfavorably loud or bad. It seems that they've never looked into the settings. because it's the first thing there, all you have to do it turn it on or off. or adjust the volume, The option to change your FOV is there, but it's kind of limited. you can alternatively open up your console and type "moat_clfov" Using decimals in place of normal so 1.3 = 130 FOV. Disabling the MOTD on joining removes the page that blocks your view when you enter in. It's useful if you have read it too many times. Inverting the map turns it from left to right. this can honestly make some maps look better. and is probably better for the left handed. Disabling multicore rendering lets your other CPU be free to process the game rather than sharing the workload risking an overload and crashing your game. Enabling hitmarkers makes a small decal appear when hitting a target. This is useful for confirming shots. Enabling damage numbers makes a number appear when shooting a target, this is great for testing weapon damage. and confirming shots. Developer mode allows you to access experimental features. There is only one currently. Gameplay Headshot Sound enables a small sound cue if you kill a target with a headshot, I personally find the noise to be satisfying and is great for confirming kills. The Custom Headshot Sound allows you to change the sound cue you recieve at a headshot kill. there are 10 sounds to choose from. Automatically bunny hop speaks for itself. This allows you to bunny hop by just holding spacebar. It allows you to build up considerable speed. Outline effect Is the outline that appears when you see a traitor buddy or a jester. You can choose by halo's, which is a low visibility high FPS option. Or chams, Which can take some FPS but clearly shows your T buddy. Enable shadows enables a visible shadow of the player on the floor, these are detailed including the weapons and cosmetics. Which can tax your frames. Inventory cosmetics visible toggles if you're able to see the cosmetics players wear, such as hats, masks and backpacks. This can help you hit more shots as there are no cosmetics blocking view. Inventory effects visible toggles if you're able to see the effects players wear, this can really help you hit shots if off because some effects are very good at hiding your head. Inventory effects halos visible toggles the glow on some effects, toggling this off can improve your shots as it makes effects less better at hiding heads. Flip weapon view models swaps your view from right to left. Which can clear up area you can't see for your gun in the way. This can help visibility. Disable 3D Skybox turns off any custom sky or backgrounds to the map. Leaving a clear blue and white sky. this can improve your frame count. Display item stats when inspecting weapons toggles displaying the information about a gun when you inspect it. Detailing the stats and talents. HUD Revert To Default Hud reverts any of the changes you've made to your Hud and sets it back to normal. This is useful if you ruin your hud. Show Weapon Stats On Spawn displays your weapons, their stats and their talents on the screen when you spawn in. Show Weapon Stats on Pickup Displays the stats of any weapon or item you pick up. This is useful to see what you're using. Enable Damage Numbers is a duplicate setting that makes a number appear when shooting a target, this is great for testing weapon damage. and confirming shots. Show Killer Card Info On death Makes a small image come up showing your killers' name. Their role and the weapon they killed you with. Enable Red Screen On Death enables your screen going red Display Numbers For Ping On Scoreboard chances the ping on the tab menu from a bar to a number. This is better for identifying your ping. Enable Status Effect Notifications makes a small image appear on the side showing which status affect you have and a bar running down with how long it's affecting. Inventory Automatically Decline All Trade Requests Disables players being able to trade you completely. this allows people to not harass you and spam trades. Automatically Decline Trade Requests During Preparing/End Round If Alive disables people trading you unless you're dead. Automatically Rotate Model in Loadout makes your model spin around as you are in your inventory. this is a nice cosmetic feature. Deconstruct speed multiplier edits how fast items are deconstructed when selected in your inventory. Inventory Theme changes the look of your inventory, this is once again a nice cosmetic feature, There are five options. I personally think alpha looks best. Instantly Opens Crates On Open makes crates opened instantly. this is great for not having to suffer watching roll animations. however you can also mass select items using CTRL and clicking on them. then right clicking and selecting instant open. saving even more time. Enable UI Sound Effects Enables the sound of deconstructing and drops when you obtain items. These noises are personally nice to hear when unboxing and are a nice addition. Enable Momentum Smooth Scrolling allows you to scroll more clearly through your inventory and prevents it from slowing down. which is great for getting through your inventory. Enable Custom Model Preview When Using crates Makes models show up when hovered over. this is nice to see what models you could get. Disable Lighting In Inventory Model Preview makes your model purely black in the inventory. I honestly don't see the purpose of this unfortunately. Item Drops Disable Rare Items Warnings Stops the warning about when you drop an ascended or higher on your screen. this stops it from disabling any movement or actions while unboxing. Drop Cosmetic Items From End Round Drops enables hats and other wearables as drops from the end of round, this is a great way to get new and unique cosmetics. Drop Paint/Tint From End Round Drops enables paints and tints to be obtainable as a drop at the end of the round. this lets you customize your guns with a constant and cheap supply. Automatically Deconstruct Items After Obtained makes items automatically get destroyed when you drop them from crates or the end of round. Rarity Of Items To Automatically Deconstruct lets you filter which rarity of item gets destroyed when you obtain it. Saving having to deconstruct those items. from Worns to Ascendeds. Auto-Deconstruct filter Primaries makes any primary you obtain through crates or end of round drops be deconstructed, this is useful if you only want to obtain certain things. Auto-Deconstruct filter Secondaries makes any secondary you obtain through crates or end of round drops be deconstructed, this is useful if you only want to obtain certain things. Auto-Deconstruct filter Melees makes any melee you obtain through crates or end of round drops be deconstructed, this is useful if you only want to obtain certain things. Auto-Deconstruct filter Power Ups makes any Powerup you obtain through crates or end of round drops be deconstructed, this is useful if you only want to obtain certain things. Auto-Deconstruct filter Specials makes any Special you obtain through crates or end of round drops be deconstructed, this is useful if you only want to obtain certain things. Auto-Deconstruct filter Usables makes any Usable like grenades or taunts you obtain through crates or end of round drops be deconstructed, this is useful if you only want to obtain certain things. Auto-Deconstruct filter Head Cosmetics makes any Head Cosmetic you obtain through crates or end of round drops be deconstructed, this is useful if you only want to obtain certain things. Auto-Deconstruct filter Mask Cosmetics makes any Mask Cosmetics you obtain through crates or end of round drops be deconstructed, this is useful if you only want to obtain certain things. Auto-Deconstruct filter Body Cosmetics makes any Body Cosmetic you obtain through crates or end of round drops be deconstructed, this is useful if you only want to obtain certain things. Auto-Deconstruct filter Effect cosmetics makes any Effect Cosmetic you obtain through crates or end of round drops be deconstructed, this is useful if you only want to obtain certain things. Auto-Deconstruct filter Model Cosmetics makes any Model Cosmetic you obtain through crates or end of round drops be deconstructed, this is useful if you only want to obtain certain things. Chat Display jackpot wins in chat Made wins from jackpot displayed in chat before they removed the jackpot section on the gambling tab. Display planetary drops in chat shows you and planetary drops that are obtained server wide, this is good as you are able to spot drops you may be interested in purchasing Display Trades in chat displays any trades that occur on the server in chat, this is useful to see what people are obtaining from trades. Gangsta Speech Mode is a function that changes words you say to be slang. this is mainly used for comedic purposes and is not used ever. Hear TTS when available enables text to speech whether you are alive or dead. with it enabled. you can hear TTS if it was made by a player in the same life status as you. Minimum rarity required to see others obtaining items enables what items you can see people unbox in the chat. This is good as it prevents spam in the chat from unboxing. MGA Low End Mode is a function used for lower end PC's. It disables motion blur in an attempt to buff frame rate, Minimalist player list is an unknown function truthfully, No information could be found or seen on what it does. Entrance/leaving Animation unknown function truthfully, No information could be found or seen on what it does. Dev Dev only currently has one function. allowing things you wouldn't normally be allowed to be painted and skinned to be done so. This includes melee weapons. models. usables. specials. and powerups
  2. I mean, He literally asked for criticism. I attempted to provide. Why the harassment? I can tell you read your friend's guide well through. "honest criticism appreciated"
  3. While your post has clearly had a lot of thought put into each category, it's put in an inconsistent way throughout the guide. Making it seem a lot less professional than it actually is. there's a fair use of color which adds diversity to your guide. but it comes off as overused. and a little burdening to remember. You've also gone to lengths with detail. Which has also lengthened your post quite significantly. making it somewhat of a chore to read. the large quantity of unnecessary images is an eyesore over time to keep checking. But i absolutely think this is a great guide man. Keep up the good work.
  4. Jester And How It Works Apparently some of you still don't understand how jester works, And that's causing a lot of problems for the playerbase, especially with every round being ended due to it. Jester was Added on the Second of May 2020. Or the 02/05/2020. The role of the jester is separate from Traitors and Innocents. in that you just have to get killed. Literally, Just get yourself killed by someone or something. Jester is currently the easiest role to complete on the server. Yet it can be incredibly difficult to get yourself killed. Currently you have a 25% to be jester according to moat. Meaning there's usually a jester every few rounds. Jesters are currently the bane of the traitors. as being killed is an instant round win for the jester. Essentially ruining any chance anyone had of actually playing the round out. When you are selected as jester, your color is a light pink. You're unable to damage any player by any means. But you also can't take fall damage. which is a nice benefit. Players are unable to differentiate you as jester if you don't attack them. Leaving only pure intuition to determine you as jester. The jester simply has to deceive the people around him into killing him. Simple task right? It can be a lot harder than it needs to be. Some people are already aware of the jester's deception. and are actively avoiding the impulse to start shooting them. It's up to the jester to be constantly unpredictable and continue to fool those around him. Whether it's by attempting to shoot and hoping for returning fire. to break a map tester and be killed for it .Or to simply just walk into a T Trap or explosion. the jester has a fair few methods of dying. But if you are called out as a jester, it's almost certainly the end for you. as people will actively ignore you in every situation. How To Identify A Jester As Every Role: As an innocent: Attempting to identify a jester as an innocent is the most difficult of the three roles. You are forced to either spot the jester messing up and damaging someone for 0. Or to use your intuition to identify the jester. Focus on how the player you suspect to be jester is acting. Are they accusing people of acts or calling false KOS? Are they going out of their way to commit Kosable acts? Always be sure to listen. Most jester's are actually called out and you didn't hear it. You can also spot a jester by watching them jump and take no damage. It's a telltale sign often ignored. As a Traitor: You probably have things the easiest, you can purchase a radar which will literally show you who the jester is. The jester also has a giant J above his head. Using chams as your traitor vision makes the jester glow through walls. avoiding accidentally killing him. Most jester's will start shooting at you in gunfights. Pretty much giving themself away. As a traitor. It's hard Not to spot a jester, Yet some of you still do it. Over and Over. A great way to stop a jester is to use a biohazard ball on them and turn them into a zombie. As a detective: You have things Pretty difficult. but you can at least purchase things on the credit store, Jester's are much more likely to target innocent's compared to detective's because most innocents are a lot more trigger happy than the detective. You're least likely to be targeted by a jester. yet you are just as unable to identify them as the innocents. You have to view how they act and react depending to it. What To Do With Jester Call out the jester after finding them, to avoid anyone killing the jester Attempt to show others the jester is that person. Bio Ball the jester. What Not To Do With/As Jester Do Not shoot anyone you suspect as jester Do Not call the Jester out as any other role. Do not kill the jester if you are aware of who the jester is. this is classified as metagame and can result in a ban. Conclusion In Conclusion, The jester is an interesting addition to moat, Providing a new and unique threat to watch out for, Relying purely on deception instead of weapons. Currently, The jester needs a major overhaul as is the general consensus of the community. Potential ideas of improvements are: Removing the jester. Making the timer run down instead of instantly ending the game. Or killing the person who kills the jester. If you agree with the joker needing a rework please give this guide an agree.

  6. Your In-Game Name: Gaming Baws Your Steam ID: 76561198042176017 Which server where you banned on?: TTT #9 Staff Member that Banned You: I have been told it's moat. Unsure. Ban Reason: 69 Months Ban Length: Can't function here Did you break any rules?: Yes What Happened: I questioned moat via DM on why he raised HP to 1000. he attempted to post a gif and it failed to load. i made a comment on it. to which moat asked for my steamid several times. i told him i felt like i'd get banned if i sent it. to which he responded bummer, and blocked me. I then went onto the moat discord to discover he removed my discord VIP role. I messaged zomb, asking about the role removal. I got into an argument with zomb, to which zomb also ended up blocking me. I have since made several attempts to apologize to zomb. including sending a large paragraph of apology. The only significant comment i made on the moat discord was "Alright moat and zomb are ♥♥♥♥ at their jobs. making discoveries." I then tabbed into gmod and discovered a 69 month ban. My comment is classifiable as toxicity. but the rest of my dealing was in private messages or non server related. I have came to understand i was completely wrong in arguing with zomb, and as stated. have made several apologies. I really only play moat. It's the main thing i do with my free time. I don't try to be toxic. I suffer from some anger issues, and that causes me to snap sometimes. which was the case with zomb. However that does not excuse my actions. I really don't want to lose my access to what i classify as a part of my daily routine now. Witnesses: Have you read over our rules?: Yes Do you regret doing what you did?: Yes Do you promise not to break any rules after your ban?: Yes

He insulted me a bit. telling me to go outside, calling me a virgin. I responded back a little. general jabs and so. And it was fine until the next map. I threw down a beastmode for anyone to take. He picked it up, round start. I'm detective and he's inno. and he kills me immediantly. I wait till he dies. confront him. Where he tells me to Kill myself and leaves. Ban Reason: Purp RDM Ban Length: 1 Day Did you break any rules?: No What Happened: So, before the round started i pushed chowking off into the leach water. they hadn't died when the round started. we both got traitor. And he got killed by the leeches. If you look in the complaint which is right here. You can see that the weapon was not any gun. and it was the leaches that killed him. In my opinion. information was witheld in order to make the case look more incriminating on myself. as it appears as me just killing him at the start without necessary expectation.
